Services Provided

Poppy’s Promise provides supports and services for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and development disabilities. We are dedicated to providing individualized services that meet kids, young adults, and families where they are on life's journey. We understand the importance of developing programs and supports that are person-centered, family-focused and complementary to other services and therapies.

applied behavior analysis (ABA)

ABA is a therapy that is based on the science of learning and behavior. Our program is designed to promote growth and learning for kids and young adults (birth through 21) through evidence-based practices that include positive behavior supports, natural environment training, and incidental teaching. Everyone has their own unique learning style and at Poppy's Promise, skills are taught in an individualized manner to help each person maximize success. We believe in the importance of individuality, creativity, fun, and respect. We value the involvement of families each step of the way as we design and implement plans focused on building successes. Our highly qualified Registered Behavior Technicians receive extensive and ongoing training so they can provide 1:1 ABA therapy that is developed and supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). The BCBAs are the backbone of our ABA program. They conduct continuous assessment to ensure wee are implementing the most effective strategies. Assessments also establish the “why” behind challenging behavior and provide individualized behavior intervention plans that teach positive replacement behaviors.

Respite/In-Home Support

Respite is a service offered through the traditional Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver and the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Waiver. In-Home Support is offered through the DD Waiver. An extra set of hands is always helpful, and we have highly trained Direct Support Professionals to provide just that for families.

Program coordination/Service Management

Program coordination is provided through the DD Waiver. Program Coordinators work with teams to develop individualized support plans. They are the primary agency contact for families and other professionals. Service management is provided through the ASD Waiver. It is an integral service for children and young adults diagnosed with autism (birth through age 17) who qualify for the Waiver and their families. Service Managers guide families through the person-centered planning process and help ensure families are in the driver's seat in choosing what's best for them.

1915(i) services

Care Coordination, Respite, and Supported Education are a few of the services we provide through the 1915(i) Medicaid State Plan Amendment. This service option seeks to provide supports to people of all ages who meet eligibility criteria (including the presence of a qualifying behavioral health diagnosis) and who have fallen through the cracks in the service delivery system.
